Our Active Aging program is specifically designed for people over 65 who want to feel young again, increase strength and become more mobile.

The Program

South West Health Management is teaming up with Exercise and Sport Science Australia to provide an amazing Exercise Experience to Australians aged over 65.

The program will allow people over 65 years of age to access 12 x 1-hour subsidised exercise sessions.

In the Exercise Right for Active Ageing exercise sessions you will participate in group-based activities at a low to moderate intensity. The sessions will include large muscle-group aerobic activities and may include resistance exercises using dumbbells, body weight and/or resistance bands.

All exercise will be planned and conducted by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists and each block with run for 12 weeks.

Over the 12 weeks we aim to help improve strength, stamina, coordination and balance as well as provide social interaction and fun!

 

FAQ

Is this subsidised by the government?

Yes! After the governments contribution you only pay $8 per session for the 12 weeks and $18.50 for the initial assessment. 

What is the facility like?

Amazing! 

We have a massive space available to us inside CrossFit South West Sydney

How hard will the exercise be?

Each session will be tailored to each individual persons ability and needs with difficulty increasing as they progress. 

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do it all

Thats ok, please give us a call or send us an e-mail and we can talk through everything with you. No matter your current ability level we can modify all exercises to suit you. 

What Ages will this be for?

The government subsidy is available to people over 65 but people of any age can participate in the sessions. 

Are there stairs?

No, everything is done on ground level so there are no stairs for you to climb. 

When does the next program start?

New programs start all the time, just get in contact with us to get started. 

Can Exercise Reverse Ageing?

Yes! Whilst it wont turn back the number there is overwhelming evidence that exercise can reverse the effects of Ageing.
